Montauk Farmer’s Market

You might think that the best time to visit the farmers market is in midsummer - it’s the peak of the season, right? Not quite - wait until the long, hot days are drawing to a close and the harvest is well underway and you’ll find more amazing fruits, veggies, meats, and cheeses than you can shake a breadstick at. It’s that special window of time where everything is fresh off the vine, and a trip to the market to grab a few tomatoes turns into an unexpected culinary adventure all its own. But it doesn’t last forever, so get on down to the Montauk Village Green for the famous Montauk Farmers Market before time is up!

One of the most celebrated markets on all of Long Island, the Montauk Farmers Market is a gastronomic showcase of the East End (and North Fork!) You might find perfectly ripe peaches, rainbow-hued heirloom tomatoes, just-caught Long Island Sound seafoods, and artisan goat cheese - not to mention a bottle of sparkling North Fork rose (in all likelihood, you’ll probably find - and leave with - all of those things.) It’s easy to leave with a dinner party’s worth of delicacies, but if you just want to come and find that single, perfect piece of produce, they’ve got you covered too.

The Montauk Farmer’s Market goes from 9AM - 2PM on Thursday, September 12th - and there are only a few other dates for 2019 (the market officially wraps up for the winter on October 4th.) No tickets necessary, and the whole family is invited. While you’re down there, enjoy everything the town has to offer - amazing beaches, delicious food, that spectacular lighthouse, and much more.
