North Fork Fresh
If you’ve ever driven around the North Fork - or even just heard about it - you probably know that the culinary scene is top-notch. But therein lies the challenge, because when everything to eat and drink is so good, how do you pick which restaurant, farm stand, or vineyard to visit? Answer: let the Oysterponds Historical Society bring them all to you at the North Fork Fresh event, where you can dine on the North Fork’s finest, all in one place.
The Historical Society has gone all out this year, with a straight-up smorgasbord of culinary delights: wine and cheese, oysters and craft beer, sushi, tacos, burgers, farm-fresh produce, country store specialties, ice cream, fresh-roasted coffee (we could go on and on, but at this point we’re making ourselves hungry!) The point is, if it’s good to eat, you’ll probably find it at North Fork Fresh, all served in a casual setting for friends and neighbors to come together and enjoy it all - although things just might get a bit competitive when it comes time to crown a winner at the evening’s pie-baking contest. You won’t want to miss a second (but you will want to eat seconds, that’s for sure.)
This year’s North Fork Fresh takes place on Saturday, June 15th, from 5 – 7 p.m. in the beautiful historic setting of the Society’s Village House. Tickets are $85 for non-members, and include the full range of delicious cuisine, drinks, music and more - not to mention the proceeds going to support the Historical Society and their very worthwhile mission. (Oysterponds has gathered art and manuscripts from the area dating back to the 17th century, and display them in a collection of buildings located in gorgeous greenspace in Orient, NY. Admission is always free: Wednesday-Sunday through September 29, mostly from 2-5 p.m., but 11-5 on Saturday.)
