World of Wine 101
The North Fork of Long Island is one of the not-to-be-missed wine growing areas of the country, and if you’re less than a total wine pro, the Sannino Vineyard folks have a can’t-miss evening for you: World of Wine 101 on March 16.
For thirteen years, the Sannino family has been growing, blending, and bottling wine on five picture-perfect acres in Peconic, and now you can learn what goes into making an award-winning vintage - and how best to enjoy it. You don’t need to know your left from your right - or your red from your white - to attend this vino-primer course; the Sannino vintners will cover everything, with a range of their acclaimed blends as course materials. From which grapes make which varietal, to how to properly taste a glass - sniff it, swish it, shake it, stir it?- to how to store and pour a bottle, it’s everything you need to know to start your journey to becoming a master sommelier - or maybe just to order a nice vintage like a pro at your next fancy dinner.
You can enter the World of Wine on Saturday evening, March 16th, from 6 - 7:30PM. Tickets are $35 -- you can save $15 if you happen to be a member of the vineyard’s Wine Club -- and can be purchased online. Want to make it an overnight? The vineyard is also home to a beautiful bed and breakfast, with suite or villa-style accommodations available - and every reservation merits an additional complimentary wine and cheese tasting, too.
