Valentine’s Day Wine Tour
Scheduling the perfect Valentine’s Day plans can be complicated - so this year, let the Long Island Wine Council and Hotel Indigo in Riverhead take care of everything for you. With the Valentine’s Day Wine Tour on February 16, you and your beloved will enjoy dinging and wining at some of the North Fork’s best vineyards and cideries, along with a luxurious stay in the stylish, modern digs of the Indigo.
Start the weekend with chocolates (and maybe a mid-afternoon glass of champagne) as you drop your bags in the hotel room, and get ready for a whirlwind tour. Start with the award-winning roses and bubblies at Sparkling Pointe Vineyards (served tableside in their beautiful Grand Tasting House) before enjoying the fruit of the orchard by the cozy, floor-to-ceiling fireplaces of the Riverhead Ciderhouse. Seal the deal at Palmer Vineyards - one of Long Island’s oldest and most acclaimed wineries - before heading back to the Hotel Indigo for a quick rest. Dinner is at the hotel’s charming Bistro 72, where Executive Chef Deb Scherer’s special Valentine’s Day menu hits every note. Finally, enjoy some beauty sleep - or maybe another glass of champagne - and the Bistro’s breakfast buffet in the morning before you hit the road.
The Hotel Indigo’s Valentine’s Day Wine Tour is a one-night-only affair on Saturday, February 16th. For $429 (plus tax), you’ll enjoy a night in one of the Indigo’s deluxe rooms, complimentary champagne and chocolates, wine and cider tastings, prix-fixe dinner and breakfast buffet. For reservations, call (631) 369-2200 or email email@example.com.
We’d be remiss not to mention the fact that wineries all across the North Fork are having their own celebrations. From Harmony Vineyards to Shinn Estate and Pindar Vineyards, you can hardly throw a chocolate-covered cherry this year without hitting a winery celebrating Valentine’s Day. Enjoy!
