Pirate Snorkel Adventure at Long Island Aquarium

It’s not easy to snorkel with a peg leg and eye patch. Which is why we outfit you for our Pirate Snorkel Adventure with snorkel gear, a wet suit and life preserver instead.

You’ll feel like you’re snorkeling in the tropics as you encounter colorful fish from all over the world while helping Captain Poseidon locate his missing treasure in Shark Reef Lagoon. It’s fun for all ages; the only restriction being that children must be out of diaper age (phew!) and all kids under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

This adventure runs daily starting July 1 through Labor Day. Snorkeling adventure start times are: 10:30am, 11:45am, 1:30pm, 2:45pm and 4:00pm. (Maximum 15 participants per session.) Register online, by calling 631.208.9200, ext. H2O (426), or in person.

Parents Magazine named Long Island Aquarium one of the Top 10 Aquariums for children, and no wonder. There are touch tanks, sea lion shows, and more than 100 exhibits and attractions. Plenty to do and see before or after your plunge. And even though it’s darn near impossible to say “Arrrrr” with a snorkel in your mouth, you do walk away with a souvenir eye patch as proof of your pirate cred.

Pricing: Members: $31.50 plus tax; Non-Members: $37.50 plus tax;  (Aquarium admission MUST be purchased with Adventure.) Cancellation policy applies. See website for more info on pricing and other attractions.
